Happy Halloween!

My favorite part of halloween is simply seeing little kiddos in adorable costumes, so that's what I'll be soaking up tonight as  trick or treat-ers come to our door. When I was a kid I was a pumpkin for about 4 years in a row, so, if that tells you anything about me :)

Ephesians 2:4-5
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.

Outfit: Black, Velvet Hat

I was feeling very 1960's on Sunday, as I decided that I wanted to show off this black velvet hat from my shop! It has a cute little bow on one side adorned with pearls and I think it's just the sweetest little thing. You can see the listing for it here

My hair naturally looks very 1960's as it is stick straight and parts in the middle. On days that I want a bit more low maintenance it is so much easier to just roll with the 1960's vibe.  A cute little hat was just the cherry on top!

We're halfway through the week, hope yours is going well!

Romans 12:1
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.

Trick or Treat Trail Run Take Two

Alliteration my friends.
This weekend was super busy! On Saturday I ran the Halloween 5k race for the second year in a row! Sean didn't run, but he was there to cheer me on. We went as Dr. Who and the Tardis, naturally. This dress is a super thin jersey fabric so it was easy to run in. My time was a little over 34 minutes, which isn't what I wanted but is better than last years time! My goal next year is to do it in 30 minutes. That would be about a ten minute mile, which would make me feel so happy! One of Sean's coworkers ran the 10k race and won it! He actually may have beaten my 5k time...and he was running twice the distance...so that's crazy, haha. He and his wife have four precious little girls under the age of 7, and they were there to hang out for the day too. We went out to eat after the race and then poked around shopping for a bit with the girls. They absolutely loved Sean and it was funny to see the three oldest girls all try and sit on his lap at once! Quite the hilarious sight.
Sean's coworker and his wife are trying to convince me to run the 10k with them next year, but we'll see how my body holds up. I taped my knees this year and it helped considerably. I'm going to have to buy compression wraps for my knees and see if it helps me train more effectively over this coming year! I still can't believe I have actually participated in two 5k races. Folks, I couldn't even run the mile in high school (there were various reasons for that, but, still). I am so happy and proud that my body can do this now and I hope to participate in more 5k's next summer/fall!

Hebrews 12:1-2
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Outfit: Vintage Tweed Plaid Dress

Well hey there beauties! It's going to be a crazy Friday with working both jobs and hosting a parents' night at my afterschool job. We're having a big 'ol party so I'm sure I will be all ready for naptime when I get home, haha! It's fun to have the parents visit for a night though, the students love it and it gives me more of a chance to interact and get to know families.
Tomorrow I am running my second 5k! I am doing the Trick or Treat Trail Run like last year, and I'm totally going to be the Tardis, because, awesome that's why.
Here are some more photos in the park!

Pssst: If you like this plaid dress, you can have it for your very own, it's in my shop! It is such a gorgeous fall/winter piece with so many special details, it needs to go to a great home! Details and measurements here :)

Take care friends!
